L'Equipe: Barcelona interested in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette

FC Barcelona are searching for a striker who would allow Luis Enrique to give Luis Suarez a rest.

The Uruguayan front man has not really played a part in his manager’s rotations this season and, in the future, the idea is to avoid overworking him to limit the risk of injuries.

French newspaper L’Equipe report on Thursday that Barça have been sounding out a move for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, 24.

The Frenchman, who’s contracted to his club until 2019, has had a spectacular end to the campaign.

He has scored in six of the last seven league games: it total, he’s scored 20 goals this season - 18 in Ligue 1 and two in the Champions League - which is why he’s caught the attention of Europe.

L’Equipe also say that Atletico Madrid are interested, while Premier League sides West Ham and Tottenham are also mentioned.

Named the best player in Ligue 1 last season, as well as being a regular for his club side, Lacazette is also a France international.
