Ex-Real Madrid man Jese Rodriguez tells PSG: "I am no substitute"

Jese Rodriguez has warned Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery that he’s not joined the French champions to play second fiddle to anyone.

The Spanish forward signed for the club from Real Madrid in the summer after struggling to break into the first team under Zinedine Zidane.

He made his first start in the league in the weekend draw with Saint-Etienne, but was taken off after less than an hour.

“Edinson Cavani is a great player, but I am no substitute," Jese said in quotes ran by Le Parisien.

“I came here with a desire to play football in every game, although I know there are great players in Paris.

“I have great character and I like to progress quickly, it's up to me to prove I can be a starter.”

The 23-year-old moved to PSG after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s free transfer to Manchester United.
