Emery on Jese Rodriguez's 'frustration' & Zidane's Ronaldo management

The PSG coach was speaking on Spanish radio on Monday night about a range of matters

On top of not starting too well at Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, coach Unai Emery now has another problem: Jese Rodriguez.

The former Real Madrid forward moved to the French club in search of more minutes and, so far, is not having as many as he’d hoped for, which has provoked various protests from the player.

Emery wants to pour water on the situation before it flares up, though, and told Cadena COPE that Jese is not playing “because he still lacks rhythm.”

The Basque coach assured that he has explained to the player that “the adaption process is important. His reaction the other day was a little frustration because things didn’t go as he wanted, but Jese’s fine.”

PSG’s irregular start to the season doesn’t worry Emery too much: “I’m convinced we will get better. There have been difficult starts to seasons before.”

He was also asked about Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo’s reaction to being taken off against Las Palmas.

“[Zinedine Zidane] is managing the situation with Cristiano as a manager with the same quality he had as a player.”
