Barcelona's biggest obstacle in race for Paul Pogba is Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said that the French club will fight Barcelona for the signature of Juventus' in-demand midfielder Paul Pogba.

Speaking to 'Telefoot', Al-Khelaifi confirmed PSG's intentions to get involved in the race for the Frenchman.

Asked about Pogba, his reponse was convincing: "Pogba? We will announce when we have an agreement with the player."

In Italy, reports suggest PSG players Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore are wanted by Juve, but Al-Khelaifi ruled them out of being involved in any deal.

"I don't understand the things they're saying about Cavani and the future of our team," he said.

"He will stay here [at PSG], as will Pastore, we are going to renew his contract very soon."

Al-Khelaifi's words need to be analysed in context, but the Ligue 1 champions are without doubt Barça's biggest obstacle in the battle for Pogba.

Manchester City are one of the other teams talking with the players agent, Mino Raiola.

The fact that Juventus and FC Barcelona will play against each other in the Champions League final in June is a nice sidenote ahead of a possible operation.
