Al-Khelaifi insinuates PSG have negotiated with Neymar and Ronaldo

Paris Saint-Germain have never wanted to confirm that they have spent a period of time trying to sign FC Barcelona’s Neymar and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both players are top of the list of desired signings drawn up by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who controls PSG through the Qatar Investment Authority, and the club’s president Nasser al-Khelaifi, although they have not been successful in their attempts to sign either.

Al-Khelaifi has not confirmed their desires to sign the two players, but he has taken advantage of an interview with Le Parisien to insinuate that PSG have not given up hope of signing Neymar or Ronaldo.

When he was asked for the reasons the club have not been able to convince the world’s biggest stars, such as the Portuguese and the Brazilian, to join, he gave a very enigmatic response.

“What you say is not true, why can't we convince them? If one day we win the Champions League, I will tell you a secret,” he responded.

The president didn’t go further than that, although he implicitly admitted that the Blaugrana and the Madridsta are two objectives for the club to occupy the place left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

PSG are ready to spend 300 million euros on the signings of both players. Their first option has always been the Brazilian, for that reason they would pay the 193 million euro release clause in his current Barça contract.
