Zidane thinks James Rodriguez needs to see a psychologist

Zinedine Zidane is so unhappy with James Rodriguez’s attitude and his contribution to the team that he has recommended the Colombian visits a psychologist.

The French coach is worried by James’ performances and it’s his opinion it could be a mental problem. Zizou believes his player needs help in order to be able to play for a club of Real Madrid’s size.

James has looked nothing like the player that shone under Carlo Ancelotti last season. He’s even lost his spot in the side, with Zidane preferring to use other players in his place.

Since Zidane took over from Rafa Benitez, the Colombian has only played one complete match, against Espanyol, while he has been forced to play a bit part in the majority of games.

Madrid’s manager doesn’t feel the No.10 is in great shape physically, while he’s also one of the players most out of form in the squad.

James has been involved in some incidents since the start of the season which could have affected his rhythm on the pitch - especially at a club as demanding as Madrid.

His continued acts of indiscipline, his weight and his nights out in Madrid have not helped. His run in with the police due to speeding has also led to doubts over his focus.

He was pursued by the police over several miles in the Spanish capital as he drove along at over 200km/h despite repeated request to slow down and pull over.

Zidane has now decided that the best way to restore the 24-year-old’s form is to send him to a psychologist.
