Xavi thinks it's Atletico's moment to win the Champions League
Xavi Hernandez thinks Atletico Madrid deserve to win the Champions League for the "great work they are doing".
And he makes Diego Simeone's side the favourites to beat Real Madrid in the final in Milan this Saturday.
"I think it's Atletico's moment," the Spanish player, who now plays for Al Sadd in Qatar, said in an interview with the organisers of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
"They deserve if for the work they are doing," he added, although he pointed out that their philosophy is not in line with his way of thinking "because they speculate and wait in defence. Football always gives you a second chance and it's the same final as Lisbon two years ago. Now is Atletico's moment.
"In terms of history, Real Madrid could be slight favourites, they have more experience in finals and these situations. That has to be kept in mind, but I think Atletico will take the trophy home.
"Atletico have Koke, Saul, Griezmann, Torres... players with natural talent that can change the game in a second. Madrid have Kroos, Modric, Isco, James, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema... spectacular players. We will see a fantastic final. I will watch the game in Barcelona, I'm really excited."
