Who can spend the most money on wages in Spain's La Liga?

La Liga have communicated the salary limits which each of the 20 clubs in the Primera Division can pay. The number does not include money the clubs can spend on non-sporting things (travel, maintenance costs etc) and mainly focuses on players' wages. However, this figure also includes any contract termination payments, image rights and social security.

Real Madrid head the list, with an authorised 431 million euros able to be spend on wages etc, with FC Barcelona coming in just behind with 421 million euros. Last season Barça topped the list, although the amounts were much less (347 million euros).

Miles back are Atletico Madrid (159 million euros), Valencia (122 million euros) and Sevilla (105 million euros) -- the three side who are competing in the Champions League this season. Then come the two Europa League side: Villarreal (61 million) and Athletic (53 million), followed by Real Sociedad (56 million).

At the other end of the scale, Sporting will be operating on the smallest budget (14 million), with Deportivo La Coruña (17 million) and Las Palmas (18 million) joining them at the bottom. Last season's lowest budget was Eibar (12 million) and although they finished in the bottom three, they did stay up due to Elche's financial problems.
