Van Gaal: David de Gea's situation is not favourable

Louis van Gaal says David de Gea's situation at Manchester United is "not favourable" for either the goalkeeper or the club.

The 24-year-old is hoping to sign for Real Madrid but the Red Devils are reluctant to sell unless they can get Sergio Ramos from Los Blancos.

The defender seems set to sign a new deal which would keep him at the club until 2020, while De Gea only has a year left on his contract.

"We have a situation that is not favourable for David De Gea, neither for us and neither for the club that, maybe, he wants to go," said Van Gaal.

De Gea was substituted at half-time after a poor showing in Man United's 2-0 friendly defeat by PSG.
