TV3 admitted they edited image of Cristiano Ronaldo's abs

Catalan television channel TV3 have admitted that they edited a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo in which his abs became less defined, although they did it "without bad faith".

The journalist Jordi Ramos on the programme Esport Club explained the photo had been changed "without bad faith" because in the image "some advertising brands" appeared. The programme rectified themselves by putting out a photograph of the player without a shirt and with the abs untouched. The channel added that they had no intention of making fun of the player or disrespecting him by doing so.

The image was criticised by the Spanish web version of CNN who accused TV3 of manipulating the player's image to make him look more fat. Even his belly button disappeared in the new image.
