Toni Kroos: "I'll ask refereee Felix Brych not to book me!"

Toni Kroos joked that he will speak with German referee Felix Brych before Real Madrid take on Atletico and ask him not to be booked.

The central midfielder was asked about his compatriot after the Serbian referee in the first leg was criticised for poor decisions. 

Kroos said: "I'll have a word with the ref before the game to tell him not to show me a yellow! But speaking seriously, he's a very good referee." 

He believes his side can beat Atletico for the first time in what will be eight meetings this season. 

"If we look at the results, we can see they are tough rivals. We know how they play. If we play our game for the full 90 minutes, we will triumph. The aim is to qualify whichever way we can," he said.
