The LFP are set to investigate Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Deportivo due to Alberto Lopo comments

The LFP are set to investigate the Liga BBVA match between Barcelona and Deportivo, according to Cadena SER's program 'Què t'hi jugues', after some controversial comments made by defender Alberto Lopo.

Lopo explained to Canal+ that, after the equaliser, he asked Xavi Hernandez to slow down the game. A draw was within Deportivo's interests, as it would make Eibar's victory over Cordoba irrelevant.

Cadena SER suggest that "Deportivo are remaining calm," though "Tebas is annoyed that the conversation has come to light." Therefore, there is enough doubt to result in an enquiry into the game which took place on La Liga's last matchday.

The game, which was played on the 23rd of May, ended up a 2-2 draw, despite Lionel Messi opening the scoring in the fourth minute. The Argentine forward netted his second on the hour mark, as everything look to be on track in Xavi's farewell game for Barça. The visitors surprisingly struck back, however, with goals from Lucas Perez and Diogo Salomao in the 68th and 77th minutes wrapping up an invaluable point for Depor.
