The aggression of Cristiano Ronaldo on Diego Godin

Cristiano Ronaldo is used to being in the headlines for scoring goals, but after Friday night's Supercopa match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid he is attracting attention for all of the wrong reasons.

The Portuguese forward appeared to strike Diego Godin several times in the final minutes of the match, which Atleti won 1-0, with the referee only seeing fit to show him a yellow card.

Madrid's No. 7 had started the match as substitute, coming on for Toni Kroos at half time, however he could do little to prevent the Supercopa and Madrid's dream of six titles slipping out of their hands.

And in the 93rd minute, when Madrid had a corner, Ronaldo's frustration boiled over

Jostling with Godin for position, he swings his left and right arms wildly in the air, landing his fist in the Uruguayan's face, who then falls to the ground.

Atleti angrily demanded a red card, but the referee, Fernández Borbalán, only booked Ronaldo. It is not out of the question that he may recieve further punishment, however.
