Simeone: Managing Argentina could happen in the future

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has spoken about the possibility of managing the Argentina national team as "a future objective," although he says that he is totally focused on the Madrid-based club and rates current boss Tato Martino as "a great manager".

"It is an objective for the future, destiny could give me this opportunity at any moment. Argentina has a great manager, that is Martino, and I am sure that he will make the national team work in the best way possible. I am concentrated on Atletico and working in the present," Simeone explained in China, at a press conference ahead of his team's friendly against Shanghai SIPG.

The Atletico boss was also asked about his children, especially Giovanni Simeone, who plays for River Plate but has been loaned to Banfield.

"As their father, I hope that they will be happy, honest and committed to what they have to do. Gio, the older one, is now at Banfield and the others are in River's younger youth categories. Hopefully they can give the energy and enthuasiasm to their football that their father could," he said.
