Simeone focused on football, not Atleti's transfer ban

Diego Simeone insists he's not thinking about Atletico Madrid's transfer ban, instead preferring to focus on Sunday's game at Las Palmas.

Atletico and Real Madrid were both handed transfer bans earlier this week - as Barcelona were previosuly - due to the way they had signed minors.

As things stand, the two clubs can make signings this month, but will then be banned from registering players for the nex two transfer windows.

Both Madrid clubs, though, will appeal the ban.

"I am just focusing on [Sunday's] game," Simeone said at a press conference on Saturday.

"I won't get worn down by other situations going on in January, because many things can happen on appeal.

"So our plan is to focus on ourselves. We have no other thoughts, just to keep on improving - that is our aim."

In the case that the transfer ban does happen, Simoene added that the club have a wealth of young players who are improving all the time.

"We have young players who are growing, which allows the team progress," Atleti's boss added."
