Sevilla defender Daniel Carrico warns Barcelona over Super Cup

Sevilla defender Daniel Carrico says he has "great respect" for Barcelona but is planning to "bring" the European Super Cup trophy back to Andalusia.

The teams meet on August 11 in Tbilisi, with Champions League winners Barcelona up against Europa League lifters Sevilla.

"They are in preseason and don;t have all their stars, but we are also starting and it will be difficult, so the only solution is to go out with all intensity. I think each side has a 50 per cent chance," said Carrico after training.

He praised new signing Yehven Konoplyanka, from Ukraine, but said: "He's very good, but there there are no stars, the glory is the team and the fans". Carrico welcomed the incorporation of a player who "has a lot of quality and the level to bring us new things".

Carrico will make his debut in the Champions League and has admitted "it's a dream to play in the Champions but it's a different competition to the Europa League, with a higher level, so we have to go bit by bit."
