Sevilla 0-3 Atletico Madrid: Simeone's side edge tough clash

Despite the what the scoreline suggests, Atletico Madrid had to fight hard for victory away at Sevilla to keep pace with Barcelona at the top of the league.

Fine work by Antoine Griezmann, despite being fouled by Daniel Carrico, saw him work the ball to Koke close to goal, and the midfielder made no mistake, blasting home past Beto to send Diego Simeone's side ahead.

Sevilla hit back but despite several promising attacks couldn't beat big Slovenian Jan Oblak.

Fernando Torres struggled up front for Atletico and coincidentally right after he was substituted Simeone's team doubled their lead.

Gabi's deflected strike flew into the corner and earned the Rojiblancos the three points frm the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Both Gabi and Koke celebrated by signalling the number eight on their fingers, a tip of the hat to their No 8, Raul Garcia, who is set to sign for Athletic Club.

And to round things off nicely, Jackson Martinez scored a screamer with five minutes to go. Griezmann hit the bar in stoppage time, but that would have been even more unfair on Sevilla.
