Sergio Busquets will return to Barcelona and not play for Spain

Sergio Busquets will not take part in the Spain friendlies against Italy, on Thursday and Romania on Sunday, as precaution so he doesn't do any more damage to the fracture in a finger in his right hand, that he has been playing with injured in recent games against Barcelona.

The Badia-born midfielder arrived at midday with the rest of his Barcelona team-mates to Spain's national team camp in Las Rozas. Busquets had suffered the injury to his hand against Eibar. Lucho rested him in the Getafe game but needed him to play against Arsenal and Villarreal at the weekend.

Busquets turned up with a medical report in which the injury detail was mentioned and the Spain medics, along with Vicente del Bosque, decided he could return to Barcelona.

The RFEF website says "Busquets did not participate in training and will have a recovey session in the gym", without saying if it will be Tuesday when he heads back to the Catalan capital.
