Sergio Busquets: "Everything can not be like a rollercoaster"

Sergio Busquets is one of the most experienced players in the Spain national side. The player from Badia believes now is the time for serenity after going from the absolute euphoria of the first two Euro 2016 games to the complete pessimism after the loss to Croatia.

The Barça midfielder said: "Everything can not be a rollercoaster. We need to have stability, whichever team plays, whoever starts, whatever the result and in the end, believe in the idea."

In the interview provided to 'Iberdrola', Busquets added: "There is no need to change the style of play, but we have to learn from our errors. We know there is much debate, criticism, and euphoria when we win.

Those of us within the camp need to maintain our feet on the ground, know what we must do and, more than being optimistic or pessimistic, be realistic."

Regarding the penalty taking controversy, following Sergio Ramos' miss against the Croats, Busquets did not reject the idea of taking a penalty: "I would not mind it, to be honest, though neither am I used to doing so.

I have only taken one, in the Confederations Cup against Italy. It was the sixth or seventh penalty in the shoot-out and if I missed, we were going home. Later you think about it and realise it had more pressure on it than I felt at the time."

Asked about Italy, Monday's opposition in the last 16 stage in Paris, the Barcelona anchorman responded: "They are a very good team, with good players, but their greatest difficulty is their system of playing.

They play a system that not many teams in Europe play, and you have to know very well what you have to do in attack and defence to cause them harm and not be hurt yourself."
