Ronaldo's poker moves him clear at the top of the Pichichi

The seven goals Real Madrid scored against Celta Vigo served to slightly ease the tension around the club, but also allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to move back to the top of the Pichichi.

It's been a difficult week in the Spanish capital, with rumours of possible elections in the summer, criticism of Florentino Perez, talk of a new manager next season and stories about a clear-out of players.

A win against Levante (1-3) wasn't sufficient to calm the waters, but the 7-1 win over Celta sets Madrid up well for the Champions League game against Roma in midweek.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo took advantage of the occasion to prove his critics wrong. Before the game, some fans had jeered the club's star player, only for him to respond by scoring a poker.

The Portuguese international now has 252 goals in 228 league games in Spain. Celta are the side he does the most damage against, scoring 17 times in 10 games against them.

He's now leading the way for La Liga's top scorer award with 27. He's followed by Luis Suarez (25).

A little further back is Lionel Messi, who after his treble against Rayo Vallecano now has 19 strikes, the same as Karim Benzema. The top five is completed by Neymar, who has 18.
