Ronaldo and Benzema absent from Real Madrid training again

Real Madrid trained for the final time on Friday ahead of Saturday’s trip to Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad.

As expected, neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Karim Benzema took part in the session with the rest of their team-mates, ruling out any possibility of either of them recovering for the game in San Sebastian.

The Portuguese and the Frenchman, who are embroiled in a new war with the club’s medical staff, remained in the gym at Valdebebas, presumably working with the physiotherapists.

Alvaro Arbeloa didn’t train, either. The right-back also remained in the gym due to a minor knock which could rule him out of the Real Sociedad game as well.

Young striker Borja Mayoral was present in the training session. He is expected to be included in Zinedine Zidane’s squad for this weekend’s game with Ronaldo and Benzema missing.

Jese Rodriguez was also fit to train after returning from the draw with Manchester City with a problem and he’s expected to be available, too.

Madrid will travel to San Sebastian on Friday night, with the game kicking off at 16.00h CET against a Real Sociedad team who, in theory, have little left to play for.
