Reus to Atletico? Gil says it's not happening

Marco Reus is extremely close to sealing a move to Atletico Madrid, according to 'Cope'.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has been the subject of negotiations between the two clubs over recent days, and it's been suggested an agreement may have been reached.

Dortmund are asking for €27million for the 25-year-old, with €17m wanted up front and the next €10m paid by January.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with Reus, but Dortmund don't want to see him follow the path of Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski, who both left for Pep Guardiola's side.

However, despite reports of a deal being close, Atleti CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín has denied interest in the German international.

"Reus has never been on Atleti's agenda," he claimed to 'TVE'.

"His profile does not fit with the current needs of the team."
