Redknapp: Atletico will try to kick Gareth Bale and Ronaldo
Harry Redknapp says Atletico Madrid players will try to kick Gareth Bale to pieces in the Champions League final. The manager, speaking to Betsafe, elaborated on Bale's time in Spain.
He said: "I think Gareth has done fantastically in that first year, some of the goals he scored were amazing, he was a little quiet year last year but he's come back again this year and he's a great talent, he's just a special player.
"He can do everything, he can head it he can run, shoot and dribble. He is the full package and he's up there for me in the best four or five players in the world.
"I think he's going to need his shin pads on for that night against Atlético Madrid because I guarantee that they will definitely be getting steamed into them, you know there'll be no prisoners taken.
"They'll target Ronaldo, Bale, they're going to really come in I think with some hefty challenges early in the game, I just hope we've got a strong referee."
