Real Madrid WILL appeal Ronaldo's yellow card for diving against Rayo

Real Madrid have communicated through their official website that finally they will appeal the yellow card shown to Cristiano Ronaldo against Rayo Vallecano.

Television images clearly show Melero Lopez made the wrong decision when he booked Ronaldo for diving, but with Atletico Madrid around the corner in the Champions League, it was thought Madrid may take the option to 'rest' him against Eibar.

It also would have meant he wouldn't have had a suspension looming going into the important stage of the title race.

However, the club have decided to appeal it. One of the reasons is because of concerns over Gareth Bale's fitness -- they don't want to be without their two stars for the Eibar game. James Rodriguez will also be suspended.

The decision does not sit well with Cristiano nor Carlo Ancelotti. They think it is a strategic error.

They are against the club's decision and are now worried a yellow card down the line will see Ronaldo miss a game against Malaga, Celta Vigo or Sevilla.

It goes against Ancelotti taking advantage of the situation. Ronaldo's ban would have freshened him up for Atletico on Tuesday.

Now, in all probability, the card will be rescinded and the Italian will have to decide how to manage the situation. Will he keep Ronaldo in reserve or not?
