Real Madrid make an advance for Paul Pogba

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is preparing his marquee signing for the summer, Paul Pogba. "Do what you have to in order to sign him!", he told his excutives, including Zidane, according to El Pais. "If in order to sign him we need to have the agent here in the director's box, with flip flops and Bermuda shorts, it doesn't matter. Do what you want, but bring in the player!", explained Florentino, referring to the player's agent Mino Raiola, with whom he broke off relations a while ago. What appears clear is that the Los Blancos president has decided to sign Juventus' French central midfielder, although they must comply with a lot of conditions.

'Soy Madridista' it was said last Monday, that Madrid had restarted their attempts to bring in Pogba - Sport put forward on the 26th of June: 'Madrid enter the race for Pogba' - but in order to get him they face a series of problems. The first is to resolve an agreement that the player has with business Oualid Tranazefti, who have his image rights. Madrid could have to pay 15 million euros in order to free the player from said promise, an amount which must be paid on top of their agreeement with Juventus. Florentino will choose that Madrid will keep 50% of these rights in order to take advantage of investment, like with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

The target is to lower this amount, with the club putting together a strategy in order to speed up negotiations with the business to reach an agreement with the Italian club. The intention is to use the buy-back clause that they have for Morata, if Juve pay the fee that Tranazefti are asking for. Florentino wants to make the most of the interest of the Turin club in the former Madrid youth product, with the club holding a buy-back clause for next summer of 35 million euros.

The following problem will be negotiations with Mino Raiola. If the agent is open to negotiating for a move for Pogba, they will try to use an intermediary to avoid him, although they could accept negotiating directly with him. If so, he will ask if there is a penalty in favour of Barça in the case of no signing being made. Florentino fears that meetings that Raiola has had with some of the candidates for the Barça presidency may have resulted in some kind of financial promise. He wants to avoid paying third parties in order to avoid another Neymar situation. Florentino wants a clear path to negotiate with Juventus without interventions.

Madrid have sped up dialogue with Juventus and his representative in recent days, in order to learn of the possibility of success for the potential 80-million-euro deal. The player has maintained contact with Zidane and has spoken on different occasions with Varane and Benzema, who have invited him to join them.

Rafa Benitez, would give the green light to the signing in order to reinforce the centre of midfield, as it doesn't currently offer him the guaranteed results that he wants. It would be a luxury signing for a leaky midfield line.
