Real Madrid 1-0 PSG: Lucky Nacho strike wins it

Real Madrid somehow survived a wave of PSG attacks to qualify from their Champions League group, thanks to a fortuitious goal from Nacho.

PSG created chance after chance in the first half, with Keylor Navas' goal living a charmed life.

Edinson Cavani was guilty of some terrible misses, including one one the stroke of half-time, where he flicked the ball wide when in on goal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also a whisker away on a couple of occasions, firing inches past the far post and putting a free kick in the same place.

Rabiot struck the post with a well hit shot, as PSG tried to get level - minutes earlier Madrid took the lead, almost by accident.

Nacho chased a loose ball down the wing and fired a cross into the box. He didn't hit it well and it headed toward's Kevin Trapp's goal.

It should have been a routine save for the stopper, but he was somehow confused and caught out at his near post, with the ball bouncing across into the far corner.

To make it even more lucky, Nacho had just come on as a substitute for Marcelo, who was injured.

PSG continued to attack in the second half, although Madrid improved a little and created a few chances of their own.

A good stepover by Modric gave Toni Kroos the chance to seal the win but his shot was saved.

There was still time for PSG to go close again, with Di Maria bending a free kick off of Navas' crossbar with the goalkeeper well beaten. So  close, but yet so far, the story of PSG's day.

The win now leaves Madrid in the next round - the last 16 of the competition.
