Betis went in ahead at the break after Cejudo's perfect hit, but Benzema equalised after the break, when James Rodriguez was played in while offside.

Both teams could have had a penalty, with Benzema and Ceballos fouled in the box, but the referee gave neither.

In the end a thrilling game ended even, with Madrid feeling lucky to have taken even a point, considering their goal was invalid.
