Rafa Benitez won't label Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world

Rafa Benitez has refused to label Cristiano Ronaldo as the world's best player. 

The new Real Madrid boss said that "he's one of the best," but would not go one step further and claim he's better than anyone else currently playing football. 

"To say that he is one of the best in the world, I believe, is sufficient," Benitez said from Madrid's base in Australia.

He was then asked if Ronaldo is better than Bale. 

"That is like asking my daughter if she prefers my wife or me. The father or the mother. It's not easy," he responded.

"Ronaldo, Bale, all of them, they are so good. For me it's not a problem. James [Rodriguez], Isco, [Karim[ Benzema, Ronaldo or Bale, we have an option with all of them."

Whether the comments will go down well with Madrid's No.7 remains to be seen.
