"Rafa Benitez will replace Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid manager"

Ernesto Bronzetti, the manager of sacked Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, has told 'Rai Sport' that Napoli boss Rafa Benitez will be the next man to take charge at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Once Florentino Perez dismissed Ancelotti on Monday night, Bronzetti has no problems saying: "It's 99 percent [decided] that Rafa Benitez will be the manager of Real Madrid."

He also confirmed that Ancelotti, who needs surgery, will not be taking on another job yet. "He will take a break for a year. That is his intention."

Ancelotti's representative also explained that the Italian coach's goodbye to the players was emotional, with the players not satisfied with the fact he is leaving. "Some players cried when his departure was announced."

On Madrid's decision to let him go, Bronzetti admitted that "at Madrid you can be fired if you don't win any trophies in a season."
