PSG 0-0 Real Madrid: Bore draw in Paris for Rafa

The pitch was full of stars but none of them shone.

Cristiano Ronaldo was denied by Kevin Trapp in the first half and Edinson Cavani volleyed wide in the second, as Real Madrid earned a 0-0 draw at Paris Saint-Germain.

Madrid's talisman went straight down the tunnel at the end of the game after a tough night in front of goal.

Real had been the better team, despite playing with a weakened side becaue of injuries, with Laurent Blanc's PSG unimpressive.

Casemiro impressed in midfield as Madrid won the ball back from PSG, and Marcelo was good down the left, but Trapp stopped Madrid's attempts.

Ronaldo fired wide late on after Marcelo fed him, and that was that. Avoiding defeat will be a plus for Rafa Benitez, who will now host the French team in the next Champions League game.

It was the first time in 41 Champions League group stage games that Madrid have not scored - something which might not be that surprising given how their coach is viewed as defensive.
