Portuguese television channel demand an apology from Ronaldo

Portuguese television channel Correio da Manha TV want both Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese Football Federation to issue a formal apology after the Real Madrid man threw a reporter's microphone into a lake

The director of the channel, Carlos Rodrigues, considers Ronaldo's actions as being "very serious" and in his opinion "embarrassing for the whole nation" due to the fact the "unedifyng" images have been seen around the world. 

"At the very least we deserve a formal apology from Ronaldo and the Federation. As captain, Ronaldo has an institutional role with the national team," Rodrigues said. 

The incident took place during the team's morning walk as they prepared for their vital Euro 2016 game against Hungary in France on Wednesday. A journalist apporaced Ronaldo and asked him if he was ready for the match. 

Rodrigues added that the channel, which belongs to the group Cofina, will take measurements "which will be announced in due time to prevent this happening again and to condemn a lamentable attiude." 

Correio da Manha TV is the television station of the newspaper of the same name, the most widely read of Portugal, which has a daily circulation of over 100,000 copies.
