Pique: Take off your club colours when you're being a journalist

Barcelona games regularly go on for longer than 90 minutes, with them normally spilling on to social media after the whistle has blown for full time.

An example of that has been Gerard Pique’s reply to the journalist Pedro J Ramirez, who works for El Espanol, after the 2-2 draw with Villarreal.

Ramirez complained that Pique had not been sent off in the first half for a second handball offence.

He wrote: “(If this is no a sending off then my God…) The clear red card offence by Pique which the referee did not want to see.”

Pique, though, felt the journalist had missed out an important detail - pointing out that he hadn’t mentioned the yellow card he did receive for handball was unfair.

The Catalan defender wrote: “Why don’t you talk about the first yellow? Because it doesn’t interest you. Take of your club colours when you’re being a journalist.”
