Perez says sorry to Keylor Navas... who now wants a wage rise

Real Madrid presidnet Florentino Perez went to Valdebebas to apologise to Keylor Navas for the chain of events which saw David de Gea remain a Manchester United player on Monday evening and the Costa Rican stopper's move to the Premier League club fall through.

Now, Navas will remain at Madrid, where he has started the first two league games of the season so far, although his image has been damaged by the fact the club were trying to push him out of the door in exchange for De Gea.

In this context, Perez and sporting director Jose Angel Sanchez have been trying to make things up to Navas, according to a report on the television station 'Cuatro'.

During the meeting, it has also been revealed, the player's agent took advantage of the situation to request a wage increase for Navas, who now looks set to be the No.1 at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

A move to United would have seen his salary go up significantly, so his agent is seeking compensation from Madrid for the damage done.
