Pepe justifies Real Madrid fan abuse of Iker Casillas

Pepe shocked some Real Madrid fans after their 2-1 defeat at home by Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese centre-back was asked by Canal Plus about Los Blancos supporters whistling goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Pepe replied: "The fans are always right."

He clarified his statement, reiterating the initial message, saying: "I have not heard them but if they have, the fans are always right." 

The statements of Pepe spread through social media like wildfire, with Casillas becoming a trending topic. 

He has been criticised for poor displays for Real Madrid and with Keylor Navas waiting in the wings, maybe dropped sooner rather than later. 

All that said, he was not at fault for the two goals on Saturday night.
