Paul Pogba causing friction amongst Real Madrid hierarchy

With the exception of Alvaro Morata's return from Juventus, Zinedine Zidane is still waiting for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to deliver on the promises he made for this summer's transfer market - especially the signing of Paul Pogba, who was seen as a key component for the French coach.

Little over two weeks remain before the European Super Cup tie between Real and Sevilla, but Zidane remains without his desired reinforcements and has now lost out to Barcelona over the signing of Andre Gomes.

The 44-year-old continues to feel displeased by Perez and is running out of patience with his continuous excuses, one of which includes the claim that Los Blancos didn't go after Gomes because he feels that James Rodriguez deserves a second chance next season.

Perez also didn't appreciate Zidane publicly opting for Isco over James and believed that his comments devalued one of the club's higher-valued assets.

James' continuity at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, coincidentally, has taken a positive step given potential suitors Manchester United are finalising a deal for Pogba themselves, a potential world record fee no less, that would see Jose Mourinho's team land a "Galactico" of their own.

The reality is that Zidane and Perez are not on good terms and a new arrival with substantial pedigree could help smooth those relations, but Los Blancos don't believe investing over 150 million in Pogba - including his agent's fees - is a worthwhile investment.

But Pogba aside, Zidane considers Real's strategy in the transfer market to be a lack of respect for his work after what was a successful debut season that saw the club win the European Cup once more.
