Nolito's renewal with Celta Vigo is "practically sorted"

Nolito has spoken about his future with Celta Vigo and a contract renewal with the club, saying that his agent is currently talking with Celta. His current terms run until 2019.

"Everything is practically sorted, so I don't think there will be problems. I'm not waiting for the January transfer window to close [the agreement]. The situation in the summer was a burden for me and what has to happen, will happen. I'm calm because I am happy here," Nolito said.

Manuel Agudo, to give him his full name, is also "very happy" to return to Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad, which was revealed on Friday. La Roja hope to confirm their place at next summer's European Championships in their upcoming qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine.

"I'm really happy to be called up," he said, before focusing on Celta. "It's a shame we didn't win [against Getafe on Friday, 0-0] because that would have been the cherry on top of the cake. We played well, had chances, but in the end we could only manager a draw.

In any case, Nolito doesn't feel this call up means he's "closer" to going to the European Championships, because he understands breaking into the Spain squad on a more regular basis is "very difficult".

"I don't see myself closer to France [where the Euros will be played], there's still a long way to go and you have to take it a step at a time. I always try to play as well as I can for my club and later, if the national team comes, then even better. Many things can happen; I hope I got to the Euros," he concluded.
