Luka Modric gives Isco a telling off as midfielder's struggles continue

Isco's situation at Real Madrid seems to get worse each day. Before Rafa Benitez arrived, the midfielder was one of Madridismo's favourites. His quality had conquered the Bernabeu, but everything has changed in a short space of time. The former Malaga man wasn't favoured by Benitez, nor by his replacement, Zinedine Zidane, and now it seems his own team-mates have lost respect for him.

Not even the absences of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos afforded him a start at Anoeta. Zidane preferred James Rodriguez, Borja Mayoral and Lucas Vazquez. The Spain international came on in the 73rd minute, with the score line still goalless. However, his excessive selfish play didn't go down well - especially with Luka Modric.

The television cameras from Cuatro caught the moment the Croatian midfielder lost his cool with Isco. "Eh! Don't do that [trying to dribble past players], pass the ball, pass a little," he said. The exchange went on for a little while, before both hugged in a way of calling peace.

Shortly afterwards, Bale scored and Madrid secured the win which allowed them to remain alive in La Liga. However, Isco had good reason to head home disappointed: his coach didn't start him despite injury problems elsewhere and his team-mates are beginning to lose respect. Will he benefit from a change of scenery this summer?
