Di Maria criticises Madrid after Man Utd move

Angel Di Maria launched a scathing attack on Real Madrid after completing his move to Manchester United on Tuesday evening.

The Argentina international thanked the club's fans and his "fantastic" teammates for his four years in the Spanish capital, but had some nasty words to say about other people.

"Sadly the time has come for me to leave, but I would like to make it clear that it was never my wish," Di Maria wrote.

"There has been a desire all along to make it seem like I wanted to leave the club, something which was never the case.

"Unfortunately it seems I am not the type of footballer that appeals to one person in particular."

United have paid €75million for the 26-year-old which is both a record British transfer fee and the most money Madrid have ever received for one of their players.

Mesut Ozil (€45m) previously held that title, taking over from Robinho (€42m) when he joined Arsenal last summer.
