Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo says "goals are in my DNA"
Cristiano Ronaldo says 'goals are in his DNA' and didn't think claims he was having a bad season were fair.
The Portuguese superstar had promised Real Madrid would put on a magical night and his hat-trick against Wolfsburg in the Champions League saw his team win 3-2 on aggregate, coming back from a two-goal defeat in Germany.
"It had to be a magic night and it was, it was the perfect game in the end," said Ronaldo after the match to radio stations in the mixed zone.
"Considering this has been a 'bad' season for me it has not been that bad. People can criticise me but I just keep in going and the numbers are there for all to see. I am very happy and with a month left of the season I can get even better.
"It was one of my best European nights, not the best but one of my best."
Asked about hitting 35 hat-tricks, he said: "It's not bad is it? Goals are in my DNA. and I want to keep scoring them for the team."
Best of the rest:
[On winning free-kick] "I took my time and hit is as well as I can."
[On Pepe praising him] "I have thanked Pepe for that, he knows me well and I am happy to hear him say that."
[Who he wants in the semis:] "I would prefer Benfica in Portugal."
[Playing all minutes in La Liga]: "If I'm feeling good then why would I not play. I love to play. I want to play it's simple.
[Do journalists not value him?] "Bit by bit you are learning. You says 'we criticise him but he keeps coming back'. I have been here 7 years. I'm 31 so I'm used it.
[Sixth Real semi in a row] "Everything is possible. We were 12 points from the top a few weeks back now it's four points. Anything is possible.
[Zidane] "I loved Zidane as a player and I like the way he manages us."
