Luis Suarez and Neymar strikes against Villarreal send Barcelona into Copa final

Barcelona have reached the final of the Copa del Rey, but at what cost?

Sergio Busquets was taken off on a stretcher after Tomas Pina followed through after a pass, catching the Barcelona midfielder's ankle heavily with his studs.

The extent of Busquets' injury remains to be seen, but it would be a considerable blow for Barcelona if he was missing for long.

However, in Javier Mascherano they have an incredible replacement, who while not cut from the same cloth adds a lot when deployed in midfield.

Take, for example, the exquisite pass the Argentine laid on for Luis Suarez, with the Uruguayan netting Barcelona's second goal of the night.

He played a similar ball for the first goal, to the same man.

Suarez fizzed the ball across to Lionel Messi, and the Argentine's through-ball was turned home by Neymar. But that early strike didn't end the game in the way Luis Enrique would have liked.

In fact, it provoked a Villarreal storm, with Denis Cheryshev firing over the bar and star man Luciano Vietto denied by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Ikechucku Uche then fired into the side netting as the Yellow Submarine aimed torpedo after torpeda at Barcelona.

Ter Stegen had to be smart to deny Cheryshev after 20 minutes, before nearly the same length of time later, Villarreal equalised.

Cheryshev held it up, Jaume Costa delivered well from the left, and Jonathan dos Santos was on hand at the back post to fire past Ter Stegen

The second half was lower in quality, with Pina sent off after a disgraceful scissor tackle on Neymar, who was lucky to avoid injury himself.

Villarreal had plenty of the ball, but rarely forced Ter Stegen into action.

The game was well and truly killed off by Neymar with a few minutes remaining, who got on the end of an excellent ball by substitute Xavi, and steered the ball home with his head.

Busquets had reappeared on the bench by this stage of the game and Barcelona fans will be praying that his smiling demeanour indicates his injury isn't too severe.
