Luciano Vietto set to miss four weeks after appendix trouble

Luciano Vietto has suffered a set-back in his Atletico Madrid career.

The striker scored the equaliser in the Madrid derby last weekend, and after struggling to find form at the Vicente Calderon it was a welcome boost for the Argentine.

However he was operated on for appeendicitis at the Monteprincipe hospital and will miss four weeks of action.

The medical team said: "The surgery was problem free and the player is feeling fine. He's waiting to start his recuperation in the next few days."

Vietto had not been picked very often by Diego Simeone but eventually found the net against arch-rivals Real Madrid.
