Koke trains for Atletico Madrid ahead of derby

Atletico Madrid have been given a boost by a return to training for Koke. 

The midfielder has been out injured with a muscle strain which he sustained against Eibar, but continued his return to action on Thursday.

He has missed several games, including the previous two defeats, by Villarreal and Benfica, the latter in the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid welcome Real Madrid to the Vicente Calderon on Sunday in the derby, but that might prove to be too soon for Koke to get back into action.

Gabi, Tiago and Oliver Torres were the midfield trio selected against the Portuguese side on Wednesday night, but they ended up being part of the team that lost a six-year unbeaten home record in Europe.
