Koke: Atletico are used to the games and are focused on beating Real Madrid

Koke says Atletico Madrid are familiar with these big games and are focused on progressing to the semi-final of the Champions League.

Atletico won La Liga last season and progressed to the Champions League final, while they have also won the Copa del Rey and the Europe League under Diego Simeone's guidance.

On Wednesday night they travel across the city to take on Real Madrid, with a last four spot up for grabs in Europe's premier competition.

"We are used to playing in these type of games," Koke said on the eve of the match.

"We have been playing in them for three years now and thanks to our work we have been able to win the majority of them."

Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos joked earlier on Tuesday that he will speak to the German referee before the game.

Koke was asked about those comments, but insisted Atletico are only focused on what they have to do.

"On the pitch we will focus on our own work," he responded.

"We will also speak to the referee, but that's another subject; we will do more things than just talk to the referee."

Los Blancos have been hit by injuries since last week's 0-0 draw in the first leg -- Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric will all miss out -- while Marcelo will sit the game out through suspension.

However, Koke isn't giving too much importance to the absences, pointing out the depth at Carlo Ancelotti's disposal.

"Madrid have a great squad," he continued, "but we will go out to win the match and to progress in the tie.

"We think about the next game, and every game is different. We hope we can progress on Wednesday."
