Karim Benzema returns to Real Madrid squad

Karim Benzema has returned to the Rafa Benitez's Real Madrid squad for Saturday's clash with Real Betis, but there is no room for Alvaro Arbeoa, Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vazquez or Denis Cheryshev.

Madrid are hoping to pick up their first win of the season against Betis at the Bernabeu after they drew their opening La Liga game 0-0 with Sporting Gijon.

Benzema returns after three weeks out following an injury he picked up in pre-season. However, it's unclear whether Benitez feels he is fit enough to start a match.

Once again, Benitez has had to leave several players out for technical reasons. Arbeloa, Lucas, who was brought back from Espanyol this summer, and Cherysheve are the unlucky ones.

The fourth player left out is Nacho, alhough he remains with the squad for now at the club's training ground.

Madrid's squad: Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla, Ruben Yañez, Carvajal, Danilo, Varane, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Kovacic, Isco, James, Bale, Jese, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema.
