Juventus desperate to land Madrid's Isco next summer

Two weeks of the new season has been enough for Isco to realise what his role is at Real Madrid. He started the first game against Sporting Dijon at El Molinon, but was on the bench for the Real Betis’s visit to the Bernabeu. And unfortunately for him, James Rodriguez’s extraordinary performance is likely to leave him on the bench.

Despite the praise Carlo Ancelotti often sent Isco’s way, he was largely a substitute under the Italian coach. Things don’t look like changing under Rafa Benitez and Isco has to decide if he is happy to be a substitute for another whole season, taking part when injuries and suspensions hand him an opportunity to play.

Europe’s biggest clubs are following the situation and many would love to sign him, be that in January or next summer. Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City have often been linked with a move for the midfielder, but the biggest interest, as of today, is coming from Juventus.

The Turin-based club looked into a possible transfer this summer, but neither the player nor Real Madrid were keen. Juve expect things could change during this season, though. They believe he will grow tired of playing a back-up role and will ask Florentino Perez for a move. His contract runs until 2018 and his release clause is 150 million euros, but his market price is much less than that. In Italy they are certain Paul Pogba will leave at some point; that money could be used to lure Isco.
