Joao Mario is offered to Real Madrid, as Florentino ponders deal

Real Madrid seem to be preparing only one or two splashes in the transfer market.

They do not appear to be much talked either.

Zinedine Zidane does not want more 'galacticos', nor unnecessary players, and hopes to strengthen the left-back and midfield positions.

The club have been offered the Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario in the last hours, and are considering the possible deal.

The player has a lot of quality, but Inter Milan are also after him, and are seemingly prepared to pay the 45 million euros being requested for his transfer.

The player's agent, Giovani Bertolucci, has been working for weeks to get him a move away from Sporting Lisbon, but has not yet had success.

Former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini had not been convinced by the player, and this was holding up the deal with the Italian side, but his dismissal has revived the contacts between the parties.

Negotiations are advanced, but the representatives are awaiting for Real Madrid before beginning their final push.

Meanwhile, Sporting assert that they will not sell the player barring a multi-million pound offer being received.

Real Madrid have Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko as their main ojective, a player that could arrive for around 50 million euros.

Zidane thinks that he would offer greater balance to the midfield, but Florentino is not sold on the footballer.

Joao Mario is much easier on the eye as a player because he arrives into attacking positions more, though Sissoko is more physical.

Next week could be decisive in concluding the matter.

Regarding the left-back, the chosen option is the German Jonas Hector, but 'Los Blancos' are not willing to pay the 30 million euros requested by Cologne.

This could turn out to be a transfer that goes to the final day of the window.

One thing is for sure, Real Madrid do not have any left-footed alternatives.
