Javier Tebas announces possible Liga BBVA timetable changes ahead of the 2015/2016 season

Javier Tebas has announced on Cadena Cope's show 'El Partido de las 12' that there are proposals for a number of changes before the Liga BBVA of 2015-2016.

The motives behind the changes are nothing more than those of television broadcasters. With this in mind, he shared that Saturday's 6pm kick offs would be put back by 15 minutes to satisfy British demand, while Sunday's 5pm and 9pm kick offs would be moved forward.

The president of the LFP suggested that Spanish timetable could change in time, should the latest owner of the game's rights consider it.

What will not be moved, despite discontent among both club and fans, will be games on Mondays and Friday. Tebas also spoken about Elche's possible penalty and the possibility of the club being relegated and replaced by Eibar.

"Elche have to put in an appeal. If they do it, it can be sorted out before the start of the league and if they take precautionary measures Elche can stay in the Primera and Eibar will stay in the Segunda. We will know in July."

When asked whether the penalty for the Levente-based club was unfair, he answered with the following: "No, because it agrees with the law of 1990. The debt with the tax agency is 8 million euros. This also happened last year and wasn't paid. They can pay 8 million euros, or a part of it and we can give them extra time. All of the clubs are paying over the long-term. We cannot help the relegation when the directors are negligent. The damage that these teams who compete in a disloyal fashion cause, those who don't pay debts or players, is very high."
