Javier Hernandez accepts he might be dropped when Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema return

Javier Hernandez has told radio show El Larguero that he might be dropped when Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are fit to play.

The Mexican striker has thrived in their absence, scoring crucial goals against Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo.

Asked about the chances of him being axed when everyone was fit, he said: "It’s part of football. Whether I am here or not, all I ask is that my margin of error was minimal

"I don’t pick the starting XI and I can’t choose myself and I understand that because there is a world class squad at Real Madrid and only 11 can play. All you can do is play, or wait.

"Right now I’m getting to play but I don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

"Maybe tomorrow it will be announced that I am signing for Madrid or going to another club. I’m in the best club in the world and the last thing on my mind is the future; I’m enjoying this moment."

Hernandez also said that the story about him not being wanted by Louis van Gaal at Manchester United may or may not be true.

The Mexican added: "If not everyone in the world adores Cristiano and Messi, imagine what it’s like for those of us who are several steps further down the scale."
