James Rodriguez insists he will fight to play for Real Madrid

James Rodriguez says he will not leave Real Madrid despite having offers on the table from elsewhere. In an interview with Marca he said his objective was to convince Zinedine Zidane that he deserves a space in the team. "I will stay at Real Madrid. I am going to triumph here," the Colombian midfielder declared.

He promised: "I'm going to fight to win a place at Madrid. It is my dream. I know that an offer of 85 million arrived for me at the club but I did not leave," he said.

James was conscious that Zidane was not his biggest fan but in recent weeks has changed his mind and is willing to give him a final chance. Everything depends on the attitude he shows and the start to the season. Cristiano Ronaldo's injury has opened the door to give him a spot in the team in the first few games. They will be an 'exam' for him.
