James Rodriguez fined 10,400 euros for resisting police

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez is not having the best time. His problems are continuing to add up.

As if he didn't have enough going on as he endures criticism for his performances and was then told off by Sergio Ramos for a night out after losing the Madrid derby, he's now learned of his punishment for being caught speeding at 200km/h by the police recently.

According to a report by the newspaper ABC, the Colombian will have to pay a fine of 10,400 euros.

The incident took place on January 1. James was exceeding the speed limit on the M-40 on his way to Madrid training. However, an unmarked police car caught him and requested he pulled over.

James, though, thought it was a carjacking, claiming that cars pretending to be unmarked police cars often trick people in his homeland. He also said he didn't hear the sirens at first because he was playing loud music.

The police followed James all the way to the club's Valdebebas training ground, where they were stopped from entering by Madrid's security staff. Eventually they entered, though, and were able to charge James.

For this incident James is facing criminal prosecution for a crime against traffic safety and another for a serious breach by disobedience and resisting the authorities. It's for the second one which he's received the maximum fine - which can range from 601 euros to 10,400 euros.
